Reiki Retreat Details

  • The Reiki Level 1 attunement is your first step in learning how to work with energy. During the attunement, your energetic pathways will be activated, allowing you to connect with the universal life force energy. This gentle clearing will sharpen your perception of the healing light and initiate you into the practice of channeling healing energy.

  • Information and materials on the origins and basic principles of the Usui Healing System. We will cover the modern Western Reiki techniques as well as the background knowledge and techniques from the original Reiki as it was practice in Japan (Jikiden Reiki). Learn about the chakra system, life force energy, how to use it, when not to use it, and how to guide your clients through the Reiki experience during a Reiki session. This comprehensive exploration will provide you with the theoretical knowledge essential for your journey as a Reiki practitioner.

  • Through guided techniques and meditations, you will practise the ability to perceive and respond to the flow of energy within yourself, others and the environment. These exercises serve to refine your sensitivity to subtle energies, which enables you to locate ‘Byosen’, i.e. disease energies, and to treat yourself and others more effectively.

  • To become an effective practitioner of Reiki we need to go beyond attunement and learning the theory. Based on the Usui system of healing, it is vital to practice self-healing to clear and align our chakras and energy pathways so that energy can flow effortlessly through the body. You will learn and practice Reiki self-healing to heal old patterns and blockages in your system and to increase your potential as a Reiki vessel.

  • Train the channelling of healing energy using different techniques and practising on yourself and others. Understand hand placements, and feel the flow of energy. This practical training will empower you to become proficient in delivering Reiki healing and prepare you for your role as a practitioner.

  • Upon completion of the retreat, you will receive a certificate recognising your training, Shoden attunement and dedication to the Usui Reiki system of natural healing within the Usui Lineage.

  • Our retreat hotel, Estalagem Da Ponta Do Sol, is perched on a cliff, surrounded by all the elements of nature: The blue ocean, mighty mountains, gentle spring breezes, green gardens and the sun overhead. It includes places for personal retreat, such as a library and an indoor and outdoor pool with sauna and spa area. This setting is perfect for taking us away from the distractions of everyday life and allowing us to harmonise our minds and hearts, opening us up for the proper reception and integration of Reiki energy and its practice.

  • We will walk, enjoy and practice Reiki amidst Madeira's stunning landscapes. These walks are more than just physical activity; they are a contemplative and spiritual journey, integrating movement, meditation and the healing power of nature.

  • We will learn from and with each other during the training and share our experiences with Reiki during the retreat and beyond. After each retreat, there will be a dedicated Whatsapp/Telegram group, always open to support you with specific questions or to share your experiences with Reiki healing.

How does this differ from other Reiki Formations?

While a Reiki formation in modern Western society usually lasts 1-2 days, the Reiki Retreat at Spiritin covers a much broader spectrum of content as we teach the knowledge, techniques and practices from traditional Jikiden Reiki (the original teachings from Japan). These teachings are no longer covered in modern Reiki initiations in Western cultures, which often leads to new Reiki students gaining an incomplete understanding of Usui’s healing system and feeling insecure when practising it. In the one-week training at Spiritin, all the content from the original teachings is taught and practised away from the distractions of everyday life. This not only gives our participants a deeper understanding of Reiki, but also time and space to practise and integrate the techniques learned at the retreat and gain a full picture of the Usui Healing system and how to effectively apply it. In addition, after completing your Level I training, you will continue to receive guidance from your Reiki Teacher for the first few weeks to help you successfully integrate your Reiki practice.

  • 1) In case of a cancellation by the organiser, the participant will receive a 100% refund within 7 days after cancellation.

    2) In case of cancellation by the participant, the following policy applies

    • In case of a cancellation received at least 60 days before the start of the course, the participant will receive a 75% refund.

    • In case of a cancellation received at least 30 days before the start of the course, the participant will receive a 25% refund.

    • No refund will be given for cancellations received less than 30 days before the start of the course.
